Essential Oil Basics
When you first start creating your own essential oil blends, it can seem a bit overwhelming. There are so many different scents to choose from and not all of them work together.
I’ve grouped the most commonly used essential oils together and created a handy chart to help get you started. Scents that work together have a ‘heart.’ Those that I can’t recommend are blank.

Citrus: Bergamot, Lime, Lemon, Sweet Orange, Grapefruit, Mandarin and Tangerine.
Floral: Rose, Lavender, Lotus, Geranium, Jasmine, and Neroli.
Earthy: Vetiver, Patchouli, Myrrh, Frankincense, Sandalwood.
Medicinal: Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Oregano, Rosemary.
Mint: Peppermint, Spearmint, Wintergreen.
Oriental/Spicy: Ginger, Cinnamon Leaf, Black Pepper, Nutmeg, Cloves
Woody: Pine, Sage, Juniper, Cedarwood, Clary Sage.
