Exploring the Future: Using AI to Create a Podcast
In today's digital age, technology continues to reshape how we create and share content. As an author exploring the possibilities of virtual reality, I decided to embark on an exciting experiment: using AI to create a podcast about my book, "Immersed: Transform Your Writing Process with Virtual Reality." This article shares my journey and insights from this innovative project.
The Inspiration Behind the Experiment The idea of combining AI and podcasting stemmed from my desire to reach a broader audience and explore new ways to engage readers. Podcasts are a powerful medium for storytelling, and using AI to assist in production offered a unique opportunity to blend technology with creativity.
Setting Up the Experiment To start, I selected two AI tools designed for podcast creation: Gigbee AI and Google's NotebookLM. My goal was to see how each AI could help me produce a podcast episode that captures the essence of Immersed: Transform Your Writing Process With Virtual Reality.
Using both AI tools, I generated scripts that highlight key themes and insights from Immersed, sort of an A/B study. Each AI analyzed the book's content and suggested segments that would resonate with listeners interested in VR and writing. I refined the scripts to ensure they aligned with my vision and voice. Gigbee worked with me on fine-tuning the script. Notebook LM did not.
Next, I used AI voice synthesis from each tool to create the podcast. Gigbee provided several voice options, allowing me to choose ones that best matched the tone I wanted for the podcast. NotebookLM did not. The production process was seamless with both sites, with AI handling the technical aspects, allowing me to focus on creativity.
Comparing the Results To give you a taste of the experiment, I'm sharing clips from both AI-generated podcast episodes. Listen to the clips below and see which one resonates with you more:
Throughout the experiment, I faced challenges such as ensuring the AI-generated content accurately represented my ideas. It was crucial to maintain a balance between AI assistance and personal touch. This experience taught me the importance of guiding AI tools with clear instructions and oversight.
The AI-created podcast episodes offered a fresh way to engage with my audience. They provided a platform to discuss the transformative power of VR in writing, reaching listeners who might prefer audio content over reading.
This experiment was a fascinating journey into the world of AI and podcasting. It demonstrated the potential of AI to enhance content creation and expand how we share stories. As technology continues to evolve, I'm excited to explore more ways to integrate AI into my creative process. If you're curious about the intersection of AI, VR, and writing, I invite you to listen to the podcast clips and share your thoughts on which one you prefer. Let's continue the conversation on how technology can transform our creative experiences.
