Accountability Circle

Stop Going It Alone

Free biweekly author support for the messy, beautiful work of building a writing career.

Writing is solitary work, but growth doesn't have to be. Whether you're staring down a blank page, celebrating a book launch, or navigating the chaos of being a content creator and author, you need people who actually get it.

The Writer's Garden Accountability Circle is your biweekly check-in with fellow authors and creators who are serious about progress. We celebrate wins, troubleshoot challenges, and keep each other moving forward.

Why This Exists

I don't have a group of fellow authors nearby. And when I talk to friends and family who aren't content creators, they're supportive, but they don't really understand the specific challenges of launches, marketing, or the emotional rollercoaster of putting your work out there.

Being an author can be lonely. You can join Facebook groups or comment on BookTok, but it's not the same as showing up live with people who understand exactly what you're going through.

So I built this space. For us.

What Happens in Each Session

Every other Friday, we meet for one hour. Here's the flow:

  • What's your main focus right now?

  • Three wins this week (seriously, even tiny ones count)

  • What actually moved you forward?

  • What's challenging you and what are you learning from it?

  • Three action steps for the next two weeks

No word count competitions. No pressure to have it all figured out. Just honest conversation about where you are and where you're headed.

Questions You Might Have

What if I miss a session?
No guilt, no makeup work required. Drop in when you can. If you want to share your reflections from a missed session, post them in the channel and we'll cheer you on.

How committed do I need to be?
Show up when it works for you. We'd love to see you consistently (even just for a few months), but this isn't school. Life happens.

Do I have to share my manuscript or word counts?
Nope. Share as much or as little as feels right. This is about supporting each other's journeys, not workshopping drafts or comparing productivity.

I'm brand new to writing. Will I belong?
Yes. Whether you're on your first page or your tenth book, you're welcome here. We all need support, no matter where we are.

I'm traditionally published / self-published / still figuring it out. Does that matter?
Not even a little. All paths are valid here.

What if I can't make it at 3 pm CT?
The live sessions are at that time, but the #accountability-circle channel is always active. Post your check-ins there and connect with the community on your own schedule.

Who runs these sessions?
I do. I'm Michaela, an author with two pen names, which means I've navigated launches, marketing, and the weird juggling act of managing multiple author identities. I'm not a coach or a guru. I'm a fellow author who got tired of going it alone and decided to create the community I needed.
